Retail chain Wal-Mart filed a patent application for a flying warehouse, goods with which to deliver drones. A similar patent at the end of last year issued the main competitor to the commercial network, online retailer Amazon.

While regulations in the U.S. do not allow companies to experiment with drones to deliver goods, they can only patent their design in the hope of future realization. In December 2016, the online retailer Amazon has patented similar to the Zeppelin air centers and parcel delivery. On Board the flying warehouses, according to the plan, the company will be able to be not only the parcels and the drones, couriers, and staff.

Now a similar development is patented and the largest trading network of Wal-Mart. In the application, the company described the gas-filled air transport and launch drones. The airship can rise to a height of 150-300 meters in Autonomous mode or under remote control from earth.

Air warehouse with drones will allow the company to reduce the cost of shipping online orders. Much of the money spent on the so-called last mile delivery to the customer's home. To avoid this, Wal-Mart offers its customers to pick up orders at the points of delivery under more favorable conditions.

Another advantage of the warehouse-the airship is able to move and serve multiple districts and even cities. "There are different ways of distribution and delivery of products. Delivery of goods to the warehouse can create unnecessary delays, increase costs and reduce revenues", — stated in the patent Wal-Mart.

American shopping network is not the first year experimenting with advanced technologies. So, Wal-Mart trains employees in virtual reality, creates a delivery system based on blockchain uses the Internet of things and automatiseret shopping carts.

Not far behind, and Amazon. The company recently issued a new patent for a system of parcel delivery via special gutters that will move from the sides of drones. In the process of passing through the pipe, the box is lowered slowly and carefully, not to damage its contents. When this drone will not have to come down to earth — enough to fly to address and lower the chute.
